Municipality of Lubiszyn (Polish: gmina Lubiszyn) is situated in the northern part of the Lubuskie Province (Polish: wojewodztwo lubuskie) in the District of Gorzow (Polish: powiat gorzowski). It borders directly on the Zachodniopomorskie Province and is contiguous with the following self-governing administrative units:
Municipality and Town of Mysliborz (the Zachodniopomorskie Province) to the north;
Municipality and Town of Debno (the Zachodniopomorskie Province) to the north-west;
City of Gorzow Wielkopolski to the east;
Municipality and Town of Witnica to the south-west;
Municipality of Bogdaniec to the east;
Municipality of Klodawa to the north-east.
The seat of Lubiszyn’s municipal authorities is the town of Lubiszyn with a population of eight hundred. It can be accessed by car from:
Gorzow Wielkopolski (23 km away) and Debno (20 km away) along the 130 inter-province road leading to the village of Tarnow and then on along the 138 district road;
Mysliborz (20 km away) along the 120 district road to the village of Gajewo and on along the 138;
Witnica along the 145 district road.
Afforested in over 43%, the Municipality covers the area of 205,3 square kilometers and is inhabited by 6 800 people. Its twenty-one villages are grouped in fifteen rural clusters. Density of population is 32 residents per 1 square kilometer.
